After re-examining potential materials, we developed «TK Hy-Unity SOY», a soy oil-based ink for use in sheet-fed offset printing, in an effort to improve printing productivity and quality as well as making ink more environmentally friendly. Soy oil makes ink much easier to use thanks to its emulsion stability and increased water tolerance and also improves the flow of ink in printing machines, thereby enabling stable printing and superior halftone reproduction.
Elsewhere, we have also improved the color rendering properties and transparency of ink using newly developed pigments as colorants, resulting in an extensive range of intermediate colors. From an environmental standpoint meanwhile, we have a range of products that both comply with NL (Negative List) regulations and meet Eco Mark certification standards on the grounds that they do not contain aromatic solvents.
A product of our unique emulsification control and pigment dispersion technology, «WD LEO-X» is compatible with a wide range of different grades of paper and offers outstanding speed, stability and suitability for long-run printing. Thanks to the material technology that we have built up over many years, it is also environmentally sound, clearing all of the current green standards for printing ink and enabling low-temperature drying.
Digital media, including the likes of digital cameras and flat-screen color televisions, is becoming more and more brightly colored and true to life with every passing year.
Our «Kaleido» series of wide-color-gamut sheet-fed process inks however have made it possible to reproduce almost the same colors as digital media through four-color offset printing. By using newly developed extra-vivid pigments, we have managed to reproduce colors that are just as bright and true to life as any produced through color printing using conventional ink or more than four colors, thereby enhancing the value of four-color offset printing for our clients and professionals in creative industries.
In addition to using 100% aroma-free solvents and soy oil in an effort to protect the global environment and improve printing work environments, the «Vantean Eco» series of process inks for newspapers (Eco Mark-certified nonhazardous products) also enables the reproduction of a wider range of colors in order to help improve the quality of print on paper.
Our «REXALPHA» series of conductive silver paste inks was developed based on the application of Toyo Ink’s unique dispersion, curing and printing technology. Printing via different methods using conductive ink, as typified used on RFID antennas, makes it possible to reduce the number of processes and print in small lots. «REXALPHA» also maintains productivity for fine patterns with a line width of 20μ and is expected to be applied to the likes of EMI shields in the future.
«FineStar» is a toluene-free, single-component, high-performance, general purpose laminated ink that is ideally suited to a range of different printing methods. In addition to the same level of performance as toluene-based inks, it also enables stable adhesiveness and is well suited to lamination. It is commonly used in the laminated processing of flexible packaging, particularly food packaging.
We have also developed an environmentally friendly solvent recycling gravure printing system, which uses «EcoVALUE-LP» general purpose laminated ink and is capable of recovering VOC emitted during printing and reusing it in the form of recycled solvent.
Including «AQUA LIONA», an environmentally friendly water-based flexographic ink for use on flexible packaging that also ensures a clean work environment, we continue to offer a range of flexographic inks and peripheral materials designed to enable high quality, high resolution flexographic printing.
We also offer a range of total solutions for flexographic printing, providing technical support for our customers every step of the way from plate making through to printing itself.
We use a wide range of coating varnishes, including water-based varnish, UV curable paper coating varnish and inline coating varnish.
Our laser-responsive «Elbima» marking ink is coated on the inside of laminate film in advance, enabling lettering to be printed by laser afterwards. This makes printed content more resistant to rubbing or staining and makes it difficult to alter. This technique is expected to be used for purposes such as printing expiry dates on food products or manufacture dates on medical supplies.
Used in screen printing, functional silk screen inks have special properties that improve the visibility of printed matter and enhance added value. Through Fukuju Sangyo Co. Ltd., we offer a range of such products, including phosphorescent ink made using nocturnal materials, scratch ink commonly used on lottery and other scratch cards, aroma ink that emits a fragrance when rubbed, heat-sensitive ink that changes color according to the temperature and embossing varnish used to enhance the design of offset printed matter.
