Q. When was Toyo Ink established ?
Toyo Ink was established as a stock company to manufacture and sell printing ink on January 15, 1907 when a private shop called Kobayashifs Ink Shop, which was managed by Kamataro Kobayashi, the founder of Toyo Ink, was transformed into a stock company with capital of 300,000 yen and 6,000 shares outstanding.

Toyo Ink’s shares were listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in October 1961, and subsequently listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange on August 1, 1967.

In Japan, Toyo Ink has 23 consolidated sales subsidiaries, manufacturing subsidiaries, functional subsidiaries, and affiliates, including sales companies located in four areas: Hokkaido, Tohoku, Chugoku-Shikoku, and Kyushu. Overseas, it has 51 subsidiaries and affiliates in 16 countries, including the United States and China (as of April 1, 2009).

Toyo Ink has two outside directors, Hirofumi Miki and Naoki Adachi (who were appointed in June 1994 and June 2008 respectively).
The above two outside directors offer frank opinions and suggestions about the management of Toyo Ink, independently and based on their experiences. These opinions and suggestions have been reflected in the management of Toyo Ink.
The Company also has three outside auditors, Yoshiaki Tsuneda, Takashi Iizuka, and Yoshio Sakamura (who were appointed in June 2007, June 1999, and June 2006 respectively).

Q. When is the record date for dividend payments ?
The record date for year-end dividend payments is March 31 every year, and that for interim dividend payments is September 30 every year.
 
Q. What is the schedule for ordinary shareholders’ meetings ?
In the first half of June every year:
Toyo Ink sends a “Notice of Ordinary Shareholders’ Meeting” to shareholders who have voting rights.
In the second half of June every year:
Toyo Ink holds an ordinary shareholders’ meeting.
After the ordinary shareholders’ meeting:
Toyo Ink sends a “Notice of Results and Resolutions of the Ordinary Shareholders’ Meeting,” and full-year and interim business reports, “To Shareholders (Full-Year/Interim Business Report),” to all shareholders.
 
Q. How can I exercise voting rights at an ordinary shareholders’ meeting ?
Toyo Ink sends a form for exercising voting rights at its ordinary shareholders’ meeting to shareholders who are registered on the final shareholders’ register on March 31 every year, and who hold at least one trading unit (1,000 shares).
You can exercise voting rights by directly marking your ballot form when attending a meeting of Toyo Ink’s ordinary shareholders held in the second half of June. If you cannot attend the meeting on the day, you can alternatively exercise your voting rights by sending the form by mail, making sure to indicate your vote for or against the agenda.
